How do I look after my Sharifwear garments?
SharifWear garments can be washed by machine (preferably in a mesh bag), but for longest life we recommend handwashing your Sharifwear garments in warm water with a gentle detergent. Rinse and squeeze dry. Hang in shade. Do not put your Sharifwear garments into a dryer.
I love the way my String Tribal pants move, but sometimes the long split on the leg is inconvenient. What can I do?
For a temporary fix, tie the bottom of the legs together in a small knot to restrict the movement of the pant leg. For a permanent solution, and a different look, you can close the split with a row of stitching, or stitch in a godet of contrasting fabric to match a top or a hip scarf.
The pants are so long!
Sharifwear garments are quite long in the leg (tall girls love that!) and can easily be hemmed to fit shorter ladies. The fabric can be hemmed or overlocked. When stitching, stretch the fabric slightly as you stitch. However, the fabric is such good quality that it is possible for non-sewers to cut to fit without hemming, and the fabric will not roll or ladder.
What size am I?
Sharifwear is designed and manufactured in New York. Sizes are equivalent to Australian sizes:
XS = 8 (not available in all styles)
S = 10
M = 12
L = 14
XL = 16
XXL = 18
These sizes are standard for most styles. However, the fabric or cut of a particular style may alter the standard size for a particular garment.
For example, the thicker, tighter weave of the fabric used for Holiday Sparkle pants could require you to go up one size. The looser cut of Gothic pants means that you may like to go down one size for a good fit. If in doubt, ask for advice.
